JASON BORDERS

Jason Borders has coached American Legion baseball in Wyoming for over 40 years.  He has won 4 state championship teams and several Coach of the Years awards.  He works hard to give his players opportunities to move to the next level and has successfully placed over 20 players in college playing baseball.  A big part of Jason’s success is the people who support him.  His wife Keli, children Schyler, Hailey, Maci and stepson Zach, along with the rest of his family have supported him throughout his coaching career.  Not everyone is born to be a coach, especially in a game as difficult as baseball.  It’s a game of failure and it’s hard.  It can destroy you, but hard is what makes it great.  Jason Borders was born to be a baseball coach.

JACK SIMMS

Jack Simms’s baseball legacy is one of service.  He coached for 32 years, mostly at the U15 level and umpired American Legion baseball for 10 years.  He has served on various baseball boards, including Casper Youth Baseball, Cody Babe Ruth, Cody American Legion, Casper American Legion and the Wyoming American Legion State Board.  Jack has literally served in every office on these local baseball boards, including president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and board member.  For the state, Jack has served as the northwest representative for Wyoming, assistant State Chairman and for the past 3 years, State Chairman.  During his time on the state board, the Hall of Fame was launched, the Class A all-star game was started and Wyoming in the Minors (a list of all Wyoming Legion baseball players that have signed professional contracts) was developed.  Both the AA and A all state players now receive their all-state awards at either the opening ceremonies (AA) or the all-star game (A).  Jack was instrumental in writing the Wyoming Policy and Procedures Manual.  Jack has served Wyoming baseball for 57 years and hopes to continue for a few more.
